Overseas candidates including EU members are required to register with the HPC in order to work in the UK, as this can take 2 - 3 months and it is advisable to start the process before arriving in the UK.

If you are seeking work with paediatrics or vulnerable adults a full police check is required prior to arrival in the UK.
Newly qualified and Basic Grade applicants for Occupational Therapy jobs will find it extremely difficult to gain employment in London upon arrival and should prepare themselves for working in other areas in the UK.
Whilst waiting for registration it is possible to work as an Occupational Therapy assistant or Technical Instructor (TI) in some hospitals and community settings in the UK.
UK Grades are:
Basic - 6 months post qualifying experience
Senior II - 2 years post qualifying experience
Senior I - 4 years post qualifying experience
